Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life’s most urgent question is: what are you doing for others?” He
dedicated his life to the pursuit of civil rights and racial equality. His dream for the future was that all people live together peacefully.
What’s your dream for the future? If you are a middle or high school student, submit a piece of writing (essay or poem) that conveys your vision for the future. What are your hopes for yourself, your family, the community and/or the world?
Please limit your entries to a maximum of three pages, doublespaced. Submit your typed entry, along with your name, grade, school and phone number, to any Worthington Libraries location before December 1.
Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and some will be selected for inclusion in the Martin Luther King Day celebration program on January 19. If your piece is selected, you will be asked to read it during the program.
If you have questions, please call 807-2604.
